One of the most important conditions of hiring The Hire Engine is to have fun, however in the interest of your safety and that of our drivers please acknowledge the following important conditions when booking The Hire Engine.
Payment
A 50% deposit (of the total booking amount) is payable to secure and confirm a booking. No bookings will be held without the payment of this deposit.
Balances are to be paid 5 days prior to the booking date, method of final payment is by agreement at the time of booking either direct debit, cash, credit card or eftpos.
Conditions of Booking
One supervising adult must be traveling with groups of children.
The client must be aware of the maximum number of passengers allowed in The Hire Engine is 9 (nine) and the maximum number of 9 (nine) can not be exceeded, no exception will be made.
Exit and entry to The Hire Engines must be under the supervision and assistance of The Hire Engine driver or team member. Passengers are not permitted to open doors unless instructed to do so by the driver or in an emergency situation.
The Hire Engines are fully operational fire appliances so passengers are not permitted to touch or operate any fire fighting equipment onboard unless under the strict supervision and instruction of our highly trained team members.
Our driver is only able to provide service according to the times and conditions booked. However, if The Hire Engine and driver is available to extend the booking time, then great! Additional charges will be incurred by the rate specified by the driver.
Our fire engines are big and heavy so our experienced drivers reserve the right to deny any access to a venue that may put the vehicle, property and any person in an unsafe situation. Prior to making your booking we will happily investigate the venue for access.
Once booked your price will not change unless you make changes to any details (shortening or extending times required). We will try to accommodate any changes, subject to availability. You may cancel your booking subject to our cancellation policy. Any changes on the booking day may incur further charges.
The Hire Engine works in conjunction with Code Share partners & may delegate your booking to another carrier, in this instance these terms & conditions remain applicable.
Vehicle Damage & Behavior
Smoking or the consumption of drugs is not permitted in The Hire Engine at any time. Failure to comply may result in the termination of hire without refund.
Irresponsible, crass, dangerous or intoxicated behavior, which compromises the safety of the driver or passengers will not be accepted and we reserve the right to end the booking immediately and evict passengers from the vehicle. In this case the booking is terminated without refund.
The hirer will be held responsible and liable for any damage to the vehicle, (inside or outside including all equipment and fittings), caused by themselves or a member of their group. The cost of repair for such damages will be the responsibility of the person hiring the vehicle.
If there is damage to the vehicle which results in the vehicle being unavailable for future hire, then the hirer of the vehicle at the time the damage occurred will be held liable for losses resulting from lost or cancelled bookings, whilst the vehicle is repaired.
If the inside of the vehicle is left in a dirty / soiled manner, then a minimum cleaning fee of $220 will be charged to the hirer.
As security to cover for potential breakages, damages or losses, credit card details must be provided at the time of booking. This credit card will be charged to cover costs for repairs, replacements or losses. You will be notified of any pending additional payment.
Persons under the age of 18 are not permitted to consume alcohol in The Hire Engine. All alcohol consumption is at your own risk, liability and responsibility.
The Hire Engine reserves the right at all times to refuse the transportation of any passenger or any Hire at any time without reason or explanation.
The Hire Engine accepts no responsibility for any lost, damaged or stolen property – please ensure all personal belongings are taken with you upon leaving The Hire Engine.
Unforeseen Circumstances
The Hire Engines are subject to strict safety and maintenance checks and while we make every effort to fulfill our commitment to you, we cannot assume responsibility for circumstances beyond our control, such as traffic, road and weather conditions, illness, vehicle breakdown etc.
The Hire Engine is not liable in the event of mechanical breakdown while on a booking. In the event that The Hire Engine is subject to an accident or mechanical failure, or is no longer safe to drive, then The Hire Engine shall endeavour to make alternative arrangements to get the hirers to their destination. The Hire Engine may at its entire discretion determine the method of onward travel, alternatively the hirers may make alternative arrangements at their cost, for which no claim can be made against The Hire Engine. The hirers specifically accepts that the hire is based on a best endeavours basis.
Cancellations
We would hate for you to cancel and miss out on all the fun on board The Hire Engine so depending on availability The Hire Engine will endeavour to find another suitable date and time for your event but if you must cancel please be aware:
Deposits are non refundable.
Cancellation on the booking day forfeits all monies paid (100% loss) unless under extreme circumstances at our discretion.
Notice of cancellation must be served in writing.
And finally
By paying the deposit referred to above the hirer acknowledges that they have read and fully understood these Terms and Conditions and agrees to be bound by them and and further acknowledges they can be enforced accordingly.
